...So It's The New Year...
I figure there's gonna be a lot of 'life' thrown at me in 2009.
But I'm looking forward to it.
Got a lot of plans, and they might possibly start happening this year. *Smile*
In the meanwhile...
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
The key ones would be meeting someone IRL that I met online (Ollie-Lol~!), getting a First on a presentation, going on holiday to Edinburgh, and not attempting to flee from my Grandma's somewhat terrifying grasp. >_>
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't make resolutions for 2008, but in 2007 I told myself I would get my driving license - which I didn't.
Soooo, for 2009, I'm planning on passing my driving test.
And in the silly resolutions that our little 'gang' is doing, mine is the challenge of not making sexual innuendo for five days. I will be smutless! O_o
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not close to me, no, though two of my work collegues have had children this year.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No... though Nimi came close to it.
5. What countries did you visit?
Scotland! Lulz.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in most of 2008?
Mental and emotional stability?
A real family unit?
Overall, 'closure'.
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
25th September - 2 Years Anniversary with Chris. *Smile*
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I've done a few things ranging from gaining good grades at university, gaining a potential future job in an art gallery, becoming so much closer with my friends, but...
I guess that key one for me is finally understanding my background. It's taken so long, and I'm not quite there yet, but I'm starting to listen to myself and understand what I want or need.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Assuming that Chris couldn't hack it.
I'm glad he's so stubborn, else I could have lost my pillar of support and the world would have been far harder for me to face.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Gah, this damn achey thing which is still here. ¬_¬';
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Death Cab for Cutie tickets & the train tickets to Edinburgh. ^_^
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I think everyone's come so far this year, it would be impossible for me to define just one to have a celebration!!!
I guess the ones I've noticed most clearly though have been Chris, Ollie, and Sarah.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My parents. *Sigh*
14. Where did most of your money go?
Edinburgh, without a doubt! Christmas was a close second, though.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The Scottish holiday & the gig. ^_^
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Either That's Not My Name (The Ting Tings) because of me and Ses' new rendition of it, or Books From Boxes by Maximo Park for various reasons.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?
Happier. I think the best word for it would be more determined.
ii. richer or poorer?
Poorer! Curses upon leaving my weekend job!
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Making more of an effort with certain people, such as Kim, Helen, and Brendan, really...
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Brain-melting stresstastic uncontrollable thought patterns?
Lulz, well, can't have the good without the bad, right?
20. How will you be spending New Years Eve?
With the people that make my life worthwhile. ^_^
21. Did you fall in love in 2008?
I think I've probably fallen back in love with Chris about three or four times this year.
I hope that never changes.
22. How many one-night stands?
Weeeeeeeeell.......
Lulz, none.
23. What was your favorite TV program?
Oooh, tied between The IT Crowd, The Mighty Boosh, and Scrubs.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
*Checks The List*
Hrmn... nope, no new names there!
25. What was the best book you read?
The Book Thief, without a doubt!!!
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Maximo Park and Mew... Though, I kinda already knew Mew before, I just didn't realise it. Silly self!
27. What did you want and got?
To be happy, and I got it on and off.
That's enough to keep me going, really.
28. What did you want and not get?
Normality.
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
So many, so good! My geek senses were satisfied.
Batman: The Dark Knight, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Cloverfield, Slumdog Millionaire, Sweeeeeeeney Todd!!!!
They - those boys over the road there - they made me watch Fight Club and American History X. And Edward Norton is a God.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 20 and I don't know what I did.
But apparently I had fun and good friends, so yay! ^_^';;;;;;;
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A sudden improvement in the relationship between Mum and the world!
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Big heels appear to have been the 'Thing'.
33. What kept you sane?
Chriiiiiiis~!
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Edward Nooooorton. Yum yum.
YUM!
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
Oh, politics always stir me up!
I'm thinking the BNP's general existence.
36. Who did you miss?
Niiiiimi Wife, my Dad, my Josie!!!
I miss Seek lots - why does he not live in England already? ¬_¬';
And I miss my Chris right now, so...
37. Who was the best new person you met?
Ollie~! She's most definately become one of 'us' now, mwhahaha~! *Claimed*
And my silly muffin Seekface~! I can't believe I hadn't tried to strike up conversation before. Again, I'm glad I did, cos he's now been successfully initiated into our gamer gang. ^_^
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008.
Sometimes people say and do things they don't mean to the people they love the most.
It's not intentional, it's a frustration that they don't know how to explain in any other way.
39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year?
I like to wait to see how things turn out
If you apply some pressure.
What happens when you lose everything?
You just start again,
You start all over again.
